As a designer and a ceramicist, I recognize the dialogue I engage in between the two mediums that allow for unique journeys and experiences that communicate ideas and values through nonverbal forms.
Senior Show: Systems in Creativity
These pipes stand as both a literal and metaphorical representation of the journey from concept to finished piece. They stand to represent the flow of process between idea, draft, revision, completion, and the many turns taken during the whole process.
Extruded from porcelain and attached with casted
connectors, the porcelain is left bare with a touch
of blue glaze on the connectors that reflects the
transparent blue acrylic bases.
Undergrad Work
My older work explores many different techniques and approaches like hand-building, mold making, along with atmospheric firings such as raku and wood firing.
With everything I do, I focus on the details that collectively alter the mood of a project, fine tuning my finished piece so that it conveys exactly what I'm looking for.
